How Merino wool can change your outdoor style #coyomistories
SPRO just launched the first merino collection at COYOMI Store this summer 2021. You may think merino is too hot during summer, but it is wrong. Merino is such an ideal fabric you should look at if you love outdoor activities like running, camping, fishing, trekking and more.
Of course, it is hard to imagine wearing merino products when it’s like 30 degrees during day time, but you may need warm clothing in the early morning and the evening as it is pretty chilly in some regions across Europe, right?. Merino wool is very warm and soft, you can wear it all day without feeling itchy. Even if you feel a little hot due to activities like running, merino wool can keep you cool when your body is hot - they can control your temperature between cold and hot!
Why is merino good for outdoor activities? Let’s look at what merino wool is - merino is a type of sheep and a majority of merino wool comes from Australia, followed by New Zealand. Merino wool is said to be very soft, warm, long-lasting and non-itchy feeling compared to a conventional wool. Furthermore, merino wool is odor-resistant - meaning that you don’t need to worry about washing clothing frequently in the middle of a camping trip. Merino absorbs sweats very quickly while keeping you warm in the cold, so It is perfect to wear for winter sports like skiing as well as outdoor activities during winter.
The SPRO’s merino series are made by NuYarn technology - which produces an ultra-light, stretchy and eco-friendly fabric.
SPRO’s baselayers are made of NuYarn’s unique fabric that combines polyamide and merino wool fibres in such a way to increase the performance compared to conventional merino wool. This means our baselayers will dry faster, be warmer, loftier, stretchier and above all tougher and stronger.
Here are the 5 keys highlights of our SPRO’s merino collection;
- Extremely comfortable to natural merino properties
- Keeps you warm in the cold and cool in the heat
- Super snug feel due to natural marino properties
- Machine washable
- Naturally odor resistant for long wearing comfort
Our SPRO Merino collection launches 3 styles - Merino Wool Long Sleeve and Merino Wool Trouser are baselayers, which you can wear as layers. Two colours are available in Moss Green and Charcoal. These two items can be combined as a set, but these are sold separately.
Additionally, Merino Waffle Long Sleeve is available in Dark Navy. This long sleeve can be worn as casual wear inside a jacket. All 3 items are available in S, M, L and XL, these are designed for men (we are also working on female design!).
More importantly, our merino is mulesing-free, they are certified by Australian Wool Testing Authority (AWTA). We support animal welfare and AWTA is one of the biggest wool testing organization to ensure merino wool is produced ethically.
It is very easy to take care of merino wool as they are a washable material. Please wash in 30 degree or colder water (preferably wash with a delicate mode). Don’t bleach and trouble dry - dry then in the air so that odor-resistant remains strong and longer.
